ABOUT ME
My name is Jackson hicks and I was born in Torrance, CA and spent my early years in Gardena, CA. I always had an interest in cool photographs and locations that I thought were aesthetically pleasing. I would take photos with my phone back then, the quality was not great but the idea was there. When I was fifteen I received my camera that I still use to this day, a Canon Rebel EOS T7. I remember begging my mom to take me to all the places I used to think about would be cool spots for photos. The first major photoshoot I did was at the Getty Museum's flower garden.
Over the years I have developed my style and skills when it comes to my photography. I have dabbled in videography as well, most of that coming from my love for fashion. While still working up the courage to properly say it, I am a fashion content creator on instagram. Being a post-grad young adult in this economy my budget has never been major, the majority of the photos I have taken for my fashion page have been done by myself with a tripod.
There has been a massive blend now when it comes to my main interests of photography, fashion, cars, and music. I go to car shows whenever I can to take photos, and I am always snapping photos of cool cars I see when I am out and about. The next realm of photography I want to get into is concert photography and videography.
I have done my fair share of portrait and other photoshoots of that nature throughout the years. I have even done the headshots for 100+ people for one of my previous jobs. While in school attending the University of Oregon I did the photoshoots for other fashion creators as well as peoples graduation photos and I cherish those experiences that brought me out of my shell to take photos of actual people, and not just myself or the landscape.
Photography has been an extremely important part of my life for some time now. It is more than just a hobby for me but a serious part of my character. I hope to continue this journey with photography and I am constantly seeking to improve myself in my skillset.
